Spring Trip part 2

If you haven’t checked out Spring Trip part 1 then you should.

We left Judd’s and headed to Skookumchuck Narrows in Egmont, BC. Skook is a tidal rip on the Pacific Ocean. It’s by far one of the most amazing places I’ve ever been.  Beautiful scenery, marine life everywhere and one of the best waves I’ve ever surfed. We had a great crew of friends that we went with and we met some new friends. It was a pretty epic week paddling and relaxing.

On the ferry heading to the Sunshine Coast.
It’s a 2 mile paddle down to Skookumchuck or a 2 1/2 mile walk in.
The first day I towed my FeatherWeight down to the wave.

I used the Pau Hana Cadence Air as my shuttle to get to the wave.
Throwing a nice clean blunt on Skook.

Here’s a video I put together from Skook of us paddling in FeatherWeight Kayaks.

We left Skook exhausted and high on life from the epic week we had.
We drove through Yellowstone on our way to Lunch Counter and saw lot’s of Buffalo.

Grand Tetons National Park.

The animals having a moment.
We spent a couple of days at Lunch Counter on the Snake River in WY.

Our campsite near the wave.
We left WY and headed to Glenwood Springs, CO.
Stephen getting a clean blunt. I’m taking a photo with the lens of my Maui Jim’s.
Jeff and I paddled on the Cottonwood section of the Colorado River on our 11th anniversary.
Loving every minute I’m paddling my FeatherWeight!

The GoPro Mountain Games in Vail, CO was the last leg of our trip.
Jeff and I competed in the Ultimate River Challenge. It was a combined race of Kayak, SUP and Raft.
A total of 9 miles at elevation! We raced the raft together, it was not pretty, haha!

I also competed in the freestyle event. Photo taken during semi-finals.

and that’s that! The trip was finally over. It was by far the best trip we have ever went on! I think in the end we drove over 7,000 miles! We had an amazing time but we are so glad to be home.

I’ll have a video of the trip up on the blog soon,

Till next time,

Elaine Campbell
